Everest Tomasello is a director and performer at Acalanes High School with a passion for both the creative and academic sides of the arts. Recent directing credits include Inherit the Wind, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The SpongeBob Musical, and On the Razzle. They have also served as a choreographer for High School Musical Wildcats on Stage and The SpongeBob Musical at Acalanes. In addition, they have stage managed productions such as The Wizard of Oz (Acalanes) and Urinetown (UCLA), and are excited to continue exploring all aspects of theatre production and tech.

Beyond the stage, Everest is the President of Growth Notes, an initiative dedicated to bringing artistic opportunities into underprivileged communities. They are also passionate about psychology and have published research exploring racial bias in IQ testing, with a focus on the inequities faced by Black students.

At Acalanes, Everest founded the Psychology Club, served on the Student Support Board, and has taken on multiple leadership roles in student advocacy, including Latinos Unidos President, Queer Student Alliance Treasurer, and Equity Council member. Through these positions, they strive to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus, ensuring that all students feel represented and supported.

They speak Portuguese and Spanish, and their love of cultural diversity influences both their creative work and research. Passionate about global perspectives, Everest enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures, and practicing languages in everyday life.

Outside of academics and theatre, they find inspiration in music, poetry, photography, and outdoor adventures such as hiking and kayaking. Looking ahead, Everest hopes to continue pursuing theatre, psychology, and community outreach beyond high school, building a career that blends creativity, research, and social impact.
